The economic impact of modern retail on the EU food sector
This was a major project for the European Commission, led by Ernst & Young.
It examined whether changes in the concentration in the food retail sector affected consumer welfare, particularly with regard to choice and innovation. We undertook state-of-the-art panel data methods on highly disaggregated data on the product offer available within shops.
