Shyamoli Patel
Shyamoli leads the Economic and Social Policy Division at Cambridge Econometrics. Bringing over 13 years of experience in economic consultancy, she specialises in economic impact analysis and the development of analytical frameworks, helping government, local authorities and public organisations navigate complex economic challenges through rigorous independent quantitative analysis.
She is responsible for Cambridge Econometrics’ UK Regional forecasts and UK subnational models, including the Local Economy Forecasting Model (LEFM), and the Chelmer Population and Housing Model, assisting clients to answer questions on their regional and local economies, and providing them with analysis and research to inform strategic documents and policy development.
With a strong track record in directing and managing large-scale projects involving multiple collaborators, Shyamoli ensures that research and analysis are delivered efficiently, meeting client needs and objectives. Her expertise in translating complex economic insights into accessible reports allows policymakers and wider audiences to make informed decisions.
Shyamoli is committed to driving evidence-based research that supports sustainable and effective policy development, strengthening the link between economic analysis and real-world impact, while driving forward Cambridge Econometrics’ vision to build a sustainable future by advancing economics that cares about people, communities and the planet.
Shyamoli holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from University College London and an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.
