Cambridge Econometrics opens for business in North America

Cambridge Econometrics and Hodge Economic Consulting have the pleasure of announcing the formation of Cambridge Econometrics Inc., specializing in the provision of economic consulting services for the North American market, bringing expertise and new modelling capacity to a broad range of clients.

Dan Hodge, Executive Vice President takes the helm at the new office in Northampton, Massachusetts bringing over 25 years’ experience as an applied economist working across the public sector, non-profit, and private sector clients throughout the U.S. and beyond. He said:

I’m thrilled to be joining Cambridge Econometrics and establishing a US-based presence for one of the world’s leading economic consultancies.

I was really impressed by the calibre and character of the team when I had the chance to collaborate with them directly on a joint project in the UK a few years ago. The firm’s focus on combining rigorous economic analysis with thoughtful strategic advisory services across a wide-range of policy areas aligns perfectly with the work I’ve been doing over the past 25 years.

Phil Summerton, President, said:

In the U.S., policy makers are grappling with similar challenges to our clients in the UK and Europe: how to “Build Back Better” as the slogan goes. To that end, we’re excited to setup a new business in Massachusetts as we try to support policy makers at all levels by providing our brand of independent and insightful economics on topics ranging from energy and climate change to infrastructure planning and local economic strategy.

In Dan Hodge, our Executive Vice President, we have found a kindred spirit who will lead the business effectively and in line with our company ethos and values.

The company already has several consulting engagements underway, including for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the Appalachian Regional Commission, the UMass Donahue Institute and the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) in Western Massachusetts.
